Helping Hands Autism Support Group

Delivered by the Community Foundation, the Space & Place grant received by the group will transform a previously derelict Health Trust building into a dedicated Autism Resource Centre.

Helping Hands was established in 2008 to assist children and young people who have been diagnosed with Autism or Aspergers, ( *ASD).

The group led by parents who have a child and in one case, children with ASD identified their need for the facility and took much of their learning from their own experiences and with their Space & Place grant, transformed a previously derelict Health Trust day care centre into a dedicated autism resource centre that will bring enhanced benefits to children with Autism and and offer space for the local community to use for other activities.
